Bible Reading Journey

At first, when my church announced that we have a bible reading agenda for this year, my eyes roles and have personal thought “since when read a bible become an obligation !!!” (iyak boleh ditabok si pidi, silahkan.. 😂🙈)

Well despite my complaint, I still obey them (🙈🙈)

After months, as you expected, I always become the last person on this bible reading things... I can not keep up with schedule. If you know me so well.. I have issue on time management and still strugling on this issue till today (😅🙈)

.

But since I’m a very competitive person, everytime my friend told me what she got after read bible -while I dont read it for weeks- I feel like I’m a terrible person ever (🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️)

I blamed my job and my inability to organize my self that made me cannot balance everything including this bible reading.

In my depression, I asked my date leader for an advice and she said this “Vidi, this is not a competition. It’s never about who will finish first but who will stay faithful till the finish line. Take it easy, no one will blame you. Just read it when you have time, but please make sure that you will make time to read. And everyone is different, including different in pace. My pace and your pace are different. Try to understand your pace”.

Since then, I tried to know my pace, and realize that I have a slow pace on everything. To keep everything balance. I must manage my time more effective and this idea come up. I will bring my bible everywhere and read it in everywhere I can. Like seriously everywhere.

For this past 7 months, to keep with the schedule, I tried to read bible in every place. From airplane to train, from my bedroom to hotel room, from my office to cafes, from Indonesia to overseas. Like literally everywhere... (😂😅)

Long story short, this is not a success story (😂😂) because I’m still far behind schedule -I’m 3 months behind- (nyahaha.. as usual). but I’m happy because at least I tried my best and have tried to overcome my limitation.

I’m so thankful for my church leader who come up with this agenda. Their decision has shaped me in every area of my life. My lesson : Obey your leader, for all authority comes from God.
